Surrounding the Giefer Family with Love (In Memory of Ryan)

Waupaca, WI

Story

On 11/3/2021 the Giefer Family's world stopped. Our hearts have been shattered by the sudden passing of Ryan Giefer (age 32) in a tragic hunting related accident, leaving behind his wife Rachel and their three young children Harper (5), Griffin (2) and baby Millie (3 weeks). The Giefer family live in Waupaca, Wisconsin on an adorable farmette outside of town that requires an incredible amount of time, energy and resources to maintain. Rachel, a daycare teacher who is still on maternity leave, has the loving support of family and friends in the Waupaca area and beyond, but is now facing the unimaginable reality of caring for her three beautiful children without the support of her loving husband and best friend. At this time, the Vos, Motiff, & Giefer families are coordinating support for Rachel, Harper, Griffin & Millie through this time of grief. Any contributions of financial support, gift cards, meals, family/baby necessities, etc. is most appreciated. About Ryan (aka Gief): Ryan was born February 20, 1989 in Appleton, WI; son of Donald Giefer and Julia (Engebretson) Motiff. After high school, Ryan attended UW-Stevens Point where he received his bachelor’s of science degree in Soil and Waste Resource Management. On September 20, 2014, Ryan married the love of his life, Rachel Vos and together created a beautiful family completed with the recent birth of their third child. He loved fishing, hunting, and all things wildlife conservation and shared this passion with Rachel who would hunt along side him. He became the Wastewater Superintendent at City of Wisconsin Rapids and was highly respected in his field. Ryan was intensely devoted to his family and many friends throughout his life. He will be deeply missed and never forgotten.
