Support for Lala’s Surgery

Story

In early February, my friend Katelyn took her perfectly healthy 2-year-old Bengal cat Lala to the San Diego Affordable Spay & Neuter Clinic in North Park. What was supposed to be a routine procedure turned into a heartbreaking nightmare. Lala was never the same after her surgery. She began acting like she was still going into heat, started bleeding, and began losing patches of fur all over her body. Concerned, Katelyn took her to a new vet who ran an ultrasound and what they found was devastating. Remnants of Lala’s ovaries had been left behind during the spay. This mistake has caused Lala to suffer ongoing hormonal imbalances, painful bladder infections, and extreme stress on her body. The vet has now confirmed that Lala’s only hope is a corrective surgery to remove the leftover ovarian tissue. Without it, she won’t survive. Katelyn is a single mom who works and goes to school full time. She’s already spent over $2,000 trying to save Lala and the original clinic has done nothing to make this right. The cost of the life-saving surgery and necessary medication is $1,500 and we’re asking for help to make it possible. Lala is sweet, loving, and still so young. If you’re able to donate anything, no amount is too small, you could help save her life. Thank you for your kindness and support.
