Supporting Daniel's Recovery

Rocklin, CA

W
Story

Supporting Daniel during his recovery is supporting a hero! On June 3rd he will undergo surgery to remove the right side of his liver to donate to 13 (almost 14) year old Luke Monroe. Luke was diagnosed in January 2026 with Liver Cirrhosis from Autoimmune Hepatitis and placed on a national transplant list. Daniel has worked in central supply at Mercy Folsom since last October and he and Genevieve became friends over conversations about Genevieve's early career in ER and ICU, areas in which Daniel hopes to work when he finishes nursing school in December. When Daniel heard about Luke's health crisis in March he completed the application to donate. When he told Genevieve he was a match and had been approved to undergo advanced testing she asked, Would you really do that? He replied, "It would be an honor."

Special Notes

Daniel needs good, quality food during his recovery, especially protein and veggies, low fat and salt. Chicken and turkey are preferred over red meats. He enjoys fruits. If you don't have time to cook, sandwich fixins would be appreciated. He likes sourdough bread. Other than that he's not too picky.
