Support for Rheaume Family

Melbourne, FL

Story

The Rheaume family is grieving the sudden loss of Jennifer — a beloved wife, mother, and friend. John and his children, ages 18 and 15, will be surrounded by extended family in these first difficult weeks, but the road ahead will be long. This page is not just about meals in the short term, but about sustaining support over the next three months. In the earliest days after a loss, support often pours in — and then fades away. Our goal is to ensure the Rheaumes feel cared for both now and later, when the initial shock has passed and the ongoing weight of grief can feel even heavier. How the meal plan will work: First two weeks: A meal every other day for John, his two children, and about three extended family members who are here to support them. Meals may be home-cooked and delivered, ordered takeout, or restaurant/delivery gift cards. Weeks 3–12: Support continues every other day. Two meals per week may be home-cooked or takeout delivery. For the other dates, we ask for gift cards instead of meals. This helps reduce leftover waste and gives the family flexibility to use support when they most need it. This is a long-term support effort. If you’re able, please consider signing up not just for the immediate weeks but also for future dates. By filling in the later weeks now, we can ensure the Rheaumes are not forgotten once daily life pulls us all forward again. Every gesture — whether a meal, a gift card, or simply showing up on the schedule — will help lighten their load and remind them they are cared for.
