We are grateful to be a part of this kidney donor chain. When Marty and I met in 1999 in Prague, I knew our connection was special, but I certainly had no idea that the love of my life would also become my hero. In May 2024, we found out that my kidney disease had progressed to the point of needing to pursue a transplant, in hopes of avoiding dialysis. We were initially extremely disappointed when we found out Marty was not an ideal match to donate to me. Then, just a few short weeks ago, we were notified of a 12-person donor chain! While the thought of both of us having surgery on the same day is daunting, the hope of renewing potentially 6 people's lives is incredible! During this time, we are grateful to lean on our family and dear friends. Support in the way of meals, gift cards, rides, visits, texts and silly memes are all welcome.
