We’re coming together as a community to support Arvel and his wife during an incredibly difficult season. In April, Arvel was diagnosed with throat cancer and completed several months of chemotherapy and radiation in September. Over the past few weeks, his health has declined significantly. On Friday evening, he was flown to UT Medical Center, where he is currently intubated and being treated for sepsis. Arvel has been the primary provider for their household and is now unable to work. Much of his cancer treatment was not covered by insurance, leaving the family with substantial medical bills on top of their regular monthly expenses. His wife was scheduled to return to work on Saturday to help ease the financial strain, but his sudden hospitalization changed everything. We’re asking for gift cards (groceries, gas, household essentials, restaurants, etc.) to help cover everyday needs and lighten some of the financial burden so they can focus on Arvel’s care and recovery. All support will go directly toward medical bills, household expenses, and daily necessities while he is unable to work. More community benefits will follow.
