Hello! My name is Channie Hubbard, Maclellan’s sister. She is scheduled to be induced Thursday, November 20th at 10pm. Maclellan and Joe have received an outpouring of love, prayers, and support for their little man. Thank you so very much! Many people have reached out and asked for ways to be helpful. Here are some options while they are spending so much time in the hospital and prepare to bring baby boy home! Update from a few weeks ago: I wanted to give an update on our baby boy! We found out at our 20 week scan that he has a significant heart defect, Hypoplastic Left Heart Syndrome (HLHS). Basically, his heart will operate as a single ventricle. This will require three open heart surgeries by the time he is roughly five years old. I’m scheduled to be induced on Nov. 20th and the first surgery is typically around 4-7 days old. We are well integrated into the Vanderbilt system, have an incredible surgeon, a dedicated single ventricle team ready to hit the ground running and are joining (what we’re learning) is a very large community of congenital heart defects. This process has turned out to be a big waiting game due to the fact that treatment is baby specific. Joe and I have walked through every emotion possible this summer, but we feel confident that this sweet little boy will benefit from inheriting a double dose of stubbornness! He is growing larger every day and hitting every milestone on the inside proving that he is a strong, constant mover! We are gearing up for a long road of unknowns, but overall know that the Lord has his hand on this baby and will walk us through any storm. Please join us in praying all the BIG prayers. Nothing is impossible! 💙💙💙
