This weekend (10/18/24), Shawn was involved in a motorcycle accident on A1A. Strong winds created a slight wind tunnel, catching his bike and causing him to lose control when he hit a patch of beach sand. He veered to the southbound side, striking a sandy berm but thankfully avoiding the palmettos and a phone pole. Shawn sustained serious injuries, including a compound fracture of his left tibia and fibula, with his ankle, foot, and toes completely broken. He also broke his C7 vertebra, upper back ribs, and right foot bones, along with suffering bruised lungs, scrapes, and bruises. Despite everything, he’s alive. Now, the Nobres need their village to rally around them. Shawn’s recovery will be long and challenging, and any support we can offer will help smooth their path as they take it one day at a time.
