Love for Linda (calls, visits, and care)

Everett, WA

Story

As you may know, Linda has Lewy Body Dementia. It's very similar to Parkinson's Disease. She has lost a lot of her fine motor coordination, spatial reasoning skills, understanding of numbers, and she has a hard time remembering specific words sometimes. Because of this, she is in an assisted living home just north of Seattle. It's a lovely home owned and run by a woman named Salem, who is taking very good care of Linda. Linda has been handling all of this with her remarkable sense of humor and adaptability, but she is also pretty lonely. It's been a hard couple of years, losing her own abilities and independence, needing to leave her home on Maui, and of course, losing Charles. What seems to help her the most on multiple levels is visits and conversations. She still has most of her long term memories, her sharp intelligence, and her sense of humor! What can you do? Visit and call! Come talk story, share laughs, look at photos, maybe go for a walk around the block, if she's up for it, or share a meal. Even a 5 minute call makes a huge difference! ...and please share this with anyone who has known and loved Linda. Help us surround her in community.
