Hello, I have come to realize I need some help more than ever. I have been unable to afford food and have rec'd food boxes but sometimes they do not pack what you need to make a full meal. As of the last month I've been very sick and in the hospital and just got out. Starting from the beginning, I am my mothers caretaker. She has advanced dementia and in February I was forced to place her in a group home as I was unable to care for her any longer at our home. I had moved in with her to take care of her and I am now in her home alone trying to take care of bills, her medical bills, my medical bills and the basics like food and utilities. In March I lost my full time job due to my illness and absences and in June was in ICU and telemetry for 10 days with a chest tube due to alot of fluid in my lungs, low potassium and low sodium. I am requesting food just to be able to not worry about that for a few days. I have started to doordash to pay the bills while looking for another full time job. If anyone feels compelled to help I would appreciate it very much. I have a lot of my mothers things I will be posting in the group as soon as things calm down a little bit, but right now I have such anxiety about my next meal. Launi (the admin) and her sister Angie, also in the group are my good friends of over 20 years. Launi is helping me post this in hopes I can get some help. She said you guys always pull together at times like this. I will absolutely pay it forward when I am back on my feet. Thank you for listening to my story if you made it this far. - Nicole
The hospital recommended I eat foods high in sodium and potassium so I do not end up back in ICU. Things like soups, pizza or anything with high potassium. I also love most fruits and vegetables.
