Support Crystal in Her Rare Disease Fight

Morton, WA

Story

Crystal, a mother of three and wife and coach in May was admitted into the ICU experiencing a TIA (Mini Stroke) and further testing showed the cause was Fibromuscular Dysplasia. But there was more, during her stay she was diagnosed with three rare diseases: Superior Mesenteric Artery Syndrome (SMAS), Nutcracker Syndrome, and Fibromuscular Dysplasia (FMD). - SMAS is a rare condition where the duodenum (part of the small intestine) is compressed, causing severe abdominal pain, nausea, and vomiting. She just had surgery to help that on 10/16 and is home recovering. - Nutcracker Syndrome is a condition where the left renal vein is compressed, leading to severe flank pain, nausea, and hematuria (blood in the urine). (Very Marjor surgery trying other surgeries to avoid moving kidney or main artery) - FMD is a vascular disease that affects the medium- and large-sized arteries, often leading to high blood pressure, aneurysms, and dissections. (The cause of kidney failing and mini strokes) Despite these challenges, Crystal remains a pillar of strength for her family. Since her diagnosis, she has undergone three surgeries, with the most recent one leaving her with a 5-inch scar down her stomach. Her husband, AJ, works tirelessly from 12am-4pm, Monday through Friday, to provide for their family. Ways you can be a part of her fight: - Meals: A warm, home-cooked meal would be a huge blessing for the family. AJ's busy schedule makes it hard for him to cook and care for their children while Crystal recovers. - Emotional Support: Crystal needs love, encouragement, and prayers to stay positive during this challenging time. Send her a card or a funny meme even if that is all you can do. The little things matter too. ✨️ Let's rally around this incredible mother and her family. Your support and kindness can make a big difference in their lives. Let's show them they're not alone in this fight! She will be down from this surgery for a few weeks. So any meals or any type of help makes a huge difference ♥︎
