Meal train for Kimberly and her family

Puyallup, WA

Story

12/22/2024 After a long road of being in the hospital, Kelley has passed and is with Jesus. If you could help Kimberly and her children with dinner while they grieve, it would be appreciated. 7/26/2024 Kelley is still fighting for his life at Tacoma General Hospital. He is now intubated, (a breathing tube) and a brain bleed but continues to fight. Kimberly is at the hospital day in and day out to fight for his care and be by his side. Meals, finances and prayers are needed and greatly appreciated to help the Hopkins family through this time. Especially meals for her children who are at home. You can drop off meals at the doorstep any Time of day and come visit Kelley anytime. Kimberly is forever grateful for all who have continued to help in anyway they can. 6/24/24 As of today Kelley is still at Tacoma General Hospital. Only 4 days ago 6/20, Kelley was Hoyer lifted to a chair and eating his meals, since that day Kelley has declined again. He presents with confusion, weakness and worsened fluid in his brain. The cancer has not grown or moved, as far as we know. The next step is a therapeutic lumbar puncture to release spinal fluid and do further testing. The hope is this will help relieve pressure in his brain and see improvement in the confusion- if this proves to be helpful then a shunt will be placed in his brain. Then Kelley needs to gain the strength needed to do physical therapy and fight pancreatic cancer. Kimberly is still at the hospital night and day fighting for Kelley’s care, this takes her away from her family for good chunks of time. Kimberly is prioritizing her kids lives and Kelley’s care the best way she can but she still needs your support. More help with meals and continued prayers for Kelley, Kimberly and her family are greatly appreciated. You can come and visit Kelley anytime : ). 2 weeks ago Kelley went into the Emergency and has now been diagnosed with stage 4 pancreatic cancer that has metastasized. Right now Kelley is still in the hospital and continues to decline. This has come unforeseen and sudden. This page is set up for meals and gift cards so Kimberly has one less thing to worry about. They have 3 children: Gracelyn is 10, Tanner 15 and Owen 18 who live in the house. I am asking for continued prayers to support this family and your helping hand of food or gift cards. Let’s stand with Kimberly and her family as a forever family that she can lean on. I can come pick up meals/gifts as necessary please just reach out : ). As many of you know, Kelley was the sole provider for this home. A diagnosis like this comes with many fears including financially. God is our source and provider and uses people like us to help others through the trials/tragedies of life. If you would like to help financially, please message me and I can help direct these to Kimberly.

Special Notes

They have no allergies and only ask to drop off dinner on the porch, as the watch dogs do not like visitors : ). From Kimberly: I can't even remember the last time I had to figure out what's for dinner, let alone being home at dinnertime to make anything, and to those who have selflessly gone out of their way to provide dinners and gift cards for my family to use, and to the gals who started the meal train, THANK YOU so much. It continues to take such a load off of me at this time. I appreciate everyone who has been a part of that. Not only has the food been wonderful, the leftovers that stock the fridge, or that I have at times brought with me to the hospital as alternatives to the repetitive cafeteria food choices has been so nice. 💝 I appreciate you all so much.
