Story
Hi, everyone, it's Brad! Thanks for coming to our page to support our family as we walk this cancer journey! Early this year, I found a small lump on my neck near my collarbone. I ignored it for a couple weeks, but when it didn’t go away, I decided to go to the doctor. They asked me to monitor it and to come back if it didn’t start shrinking on its own. Well, it didn’t go away. So I had a follow-up appointment, which led to several weeks of testing: an ultrasound, then a biopsy, then a CT scan, then another biopsy. These tests revealed that I have cancer—not only in my neck—but also in my colon and liver. On April 30, I was formally diagnosed with stage 4 colon cancer. Doctors consider this kind of cancer treatable but not curable. So on May 6, I began a personalized chemotherapy treatment plan with the goal of maximizing quantity and quality of life. For now, we're taking everything one step at a time and one day at a time. Christy and I are inviting you to subscribe to this page and to join us as we walk this difficult road. Thank you again for all your support. We really can't say it enough. Your care means the world to us, and we're so grateful to have you on our side as we all battle cancer together!
Special Notes
This page offers some tangible ways you can help meet Brad, Christy, Isaac, and Nathan's needs. We've included an Amazon wishlist of items to help Brad with his treatment and to help the family ease into life in their new home. The page also includes a list of gift cards to the Smith's favorite places to get groceries, household supplies, and other things. Also, the Smiths have been saying that what they need most right now is prayer—prayer for Jesus’s peace, prayer for strength from the Holy Spirit, prayer for a miracle from the Father. If you'd like to support them in this way, we’re inviting you to sign up to pray for them using the following website: https://signup.24-7prayer.com/signup/9fab08/.
