Post Surgery Care for Will

Story

TYSM to Jennifer D'Avanzo for starting this page. And thanks in advance to reading what's below <3 --- I underwent proximal hamstring repair on my left side. In short, my hamstring was completely detached from my sit bone and pulled away. Anchors were installed and the tendons sutured to those. The recovery is LONG. I'll be non-weight-bearing for a couple of weeks. And PT won't start for a while. My FMLA target is January 2027. Fully recovered by March 2027. --- I read something the other day that went like "Some of you love 'community' as long as you are never the one who needs anything." Hot Damn! Feeling called out by that? Not me. I promise. I do know what it means to take help, assistance, and care. I am not so good at finding words for that kind of self-advocacy though. So thank you to my vocal [read:pushy] friends that wanted a way to help me out and manifested this page. So simmer down now. I want to tell all of you that I've only recently (the last few years) had a positive relationship with my body so the loss of movement is not as profound. But you know who/what has always been there for me? My oldest friends - my head and my heart. And I love them so damn much. I love them for the thoughts, the feelings, and the words they grant me. And while this downtime will bring its challenges, I'm REALLY looking forward to the focused time with my oldest friends. **And connecting with all of you ding dongs also!**

Special Notes

**My cell: 971-201-1959 Will's doctors are telling him to dial it back on the sugar...whatever. Also, I'm lactose intolerant but it seems more like a dairy allergy. Milk products are fine as long as they are baked into something! If it's creamy, frosting-like, cheesey (duh), and otherwise delicious, I should not have it. Dairy Free please. Also, don't come this way with organ meats. What's wrong with you? SE Asian men, get gout. Plus, I don't tend to eat a lot of meat (maybe 2x month). So my diet is more vegetarian/vegan. *** Biggest thing is I've been warned that the pain meds will absolutely "plug me up" so food that promotes healthy digestion is great.
