Hey guys, For those of you that already know some of the Gray story, you know it’s been a long road of hospital visits from Mike’s liver transplant 24 years ago. Carolyn has faithfully served and loved her family and taken care of Mike ever since. This time, Carolyn is the one who is needing some help. She went to the ER on Friday, 01/30 for severe abdominal pain and it turns out that she has stage 4 cancer now. She is 100% believing that God has healed her and we are standing with her in that. In the meantime however, we need some help with caretaking for both Mike and Carolyn. Amazingly, we have had someone offer to pay for nighttime care for the family, which is a huge blessing. Thank you Lord! Our biggest need right now is just having people check in on them during the work week. Whether it’s an hour here or there, or if you’d be able to commit to something weekly, anything is appreciated as we navigate this season. If you’d rather give financially, that is fine, as we would use the funds to pay for hours for caregivers to come in, but what we really need is time. To realistically pay for the amount of care we need right now, it would cost somewhere in the neighborhood of $20,000/month. This is our alternative idea to try and piece together a plan so at least they are not going too long without having a set of eyes on them.
Carolyn is fairly weak right now, so please do not stand there and talk to her for a long time. Mike loves to talk and would be happy to chat with you about fishing, motorcycles, MBA programs, the Lord, etc. If you do want to bring food, just know that Carolyn is a vegetarian.
