Hello friends! This is Danielle - Mindy's friend and friend of the family. I wanted to set up a calendar because many have reached out asking how to pour some love on Cheri and the family. If you have come across this page through a share but would love to help, here is a quick update from Mindy [Cheri + Scott's oldest daughter]. "Well, this isn’t the update I wanted to give. My Dad’s cancer had ravaged his body more than the doctors or our family ever realized. The Lord took him home this morning before the sun came up. Scott Gentry was my favorite person. My number 1. It’s not often girls get to have a Dad who understands how to be a girl Dad. Understands how to love them and teach them how to be strong in a world that doesn’t treat them right. He was an honest man, he had a wicked sense of humor, endless wisdom, and walked in righteousness. He was a faithful partner to my Mom and would have lit the world on fire for her had she needed it. There was not a better friend than my Dad. He walked many trials and silently carried people’s secrets never to be repeated. He was a trusted man. Most of all, he was an incredible Papa. To him, his family was his greatest accomplishment and his grandchildren were the cherry on top on the best ice cream sundae in the world. I don’t exactly know how to live in world where my Dad isn’t in it cheering me on in the background…but I’ll do my best to carry on and honor his legacy. To treat people with respect and dignity. To help children and animals. To love and forgive over and over because that’s what he wanted for me. I love you, Dad. Until we meet again."
