Update on June Ivers & How to Help ❤️

Story

Hello friends and family, We want to share a consolidated update on June’s journey and help to consolidate information and needs in one spot to help ease some burden of updates and needs for the family as they navigate all of this. As many of you know, things moved very quickly this week. June was admitted to the ICU at Swedish First Hill on Sunday with a diagnosis of Stage 4 lung cancer. The hopeful news: Tests confirmed a specific mutation (EGFR_L858R), which means she is a candidate for a targeted pill treatment called Tagrisso, rather than traditional chemo. She started her first doses this week and is showing us her incredible sense of humor and resiliency remains intact. She is communicating with loved ones and staff via sign language and written notes while she remains on the ventilator. How you can support Brandon and the kids right now: • Venmo: Direct contributions to @BIvers or cash specific gift cards are the most helpful for their rapidly changing daily needs. • Meals: Coordination is happening via Meal Train here: mealtrain.com/8l2m18. • Updates: To keep Brandon’s phone clear for medical updates, please post your love and well-wishes on her CaringBridge page or here instead of texting. IMPORTANT: we will be adding a task related request schedule on this site when Brandon finds time to plop in their needs. If you’re able to assist in any of those areas, please sign up via the website rather than reaching out to the family to claim tasks. You can reach out to either Garrett or Shelley (the admins here) in the meantime with tech support questions regarding this. This capability will be paused until we have it going, so keep your eyes out for the update that it is live. Thank you for the massive outpouring of love. They are taking this one day, and one dose, at a time and all the well wishes and support are appreciated.
