Story

Hi! Thank you so much for your support as I undergo breast cancer treatment. Everyone’s kind words, calls, help and donations so far has helped immensely as I manage the emotions, stresses, decisions, and treatment side effects involved. Your continued support would mean so much, and there are many ways to offer your support. Your texts and calls remind me that I’m not alone, and help in the form of meals, supplements, childcare, and financial donations are deeply appreciated. Above all, ensuring my and Auri’s most basic needs are and continue to be met is the foundation. There are many wonderful suggestions and ideas regarding the best foods and supplements for my condition, and I am immensely grateful for all of them. As I go about prioritizing each, know that your support helps me to afford healthy fruits & vegetables and proteins to keep my body strong and feed my growing daughter. It helps me to more easily make choices at the grocery store that will best help me fight and survive.  When I do, it is my dream to give back to others as a coach, workshop facilitator, writer, and mentor. On my good days I will be working toward that dream via writing, having 100 conversations with moms of young children, and developing resources aimed at fortifying, empowering, and amplifying new moms. I believe that when we center, amplify, and support new moms, we heal communities. The narratives around self-care are both fraught and woefully inadequate, and I’d like to see changes in order to prevent this and other kinds of maternal crises at the roots. Once again, thank you so much.

Special Notes

Cooked vegetables and proteins are much appreciated, and fruit - especially watermelon so far has proven very refreshing. Cruciferous & dark leafy greens are supposed to be very protective.
