Jamie's Village: Lifting Up the Semans Family

Story

If you know Jamie, you know there is something special about her. Her smile is infectious, her heart for giving is unmatched, and her love for her community has been woven into so much of her life. Jamie has spent years showing up for others. Now, it’s our turn to show up for her. Jamie was recently diagnosed with breast cancer and will soon undergo a bilateral mastectomy. This is a major surgery with a long road of healing and recovery ahead. Through all of this, Jamie is still Mama to her two incredible twin girls, Josie and Penelope, and wife to her superhero husband, Matt, who will be right beside her every step of the way. But they should not have to carry everything that comes with cancer alone. That’s where Jamie’s Village comes in. In the weeks and months ahead, we want Jamie to have the freedom to focus completely on healing, and Matt to have the freedom to focus completely on her. To be her caretaker, her advocate, her steady hand, and to be there for their girls without the added weight of wondering how everything else will get done. Cancer already asks far too much of a family. Financial stress shouldn’t get to ask for more. That’s why Jamie’s Village is about so much more than a meal train. It’s about wrapping our arms around this entire family and creating some breathing room while they navigate what comes next. Bring a meal. Send a gift card. Make a donation. Grab some groceries. Run an errand. Help around the house. Send encouragement. Pray, and then pray some more. No gesture is too small. Every little thing we can take off their shoulders gives Matt more freedom to simply be Jamie’s husband and caretaker, and gives Jamie the space to put everything she has into healing. This is what a village does. We carry what we can when someone we love is carrying too much. Jamie, you have spent your life showing up for others. Now it’s our turn to show up for you. Welcome to Jamie’s Village. 💗 You’ve loved your community well. Now let us love you right back.

Special Notes

The Semans family has no known food allergies or dietary restrictions, so feel free to share your family favorites! Jamie’s health, healing, and time with her family are our biggest priorities right now. Please be mindful that there may be times when visitors aren’t possible, even when meals or gifts are being dropped off. Porch drop-offs are always appreciated! We’ll keep this page updated with any specific needs, meal preferences, appointments, or ways the family could use a little extra help. Most importantly, please continue to cover Jamie, Matt, Josie, and Penelope in prayer. Your messages, encouragement, generosity, and love mean more than you know. Thank you for being part of Jamie’s Village. 💗
