Love & Support for Denise

Millcreek, UT

Story

Denise had an allergic reaction to propofol (an anesthetic agent) following a routine colonoscopy in February. She experienced facial swelling that persisted and then got exponentially worse, landing her in the hospital on March 5th with a transfer to the ICU the following day. She was put on a ventilator to ensure her airway was protected and the swelling finally began to subside before pneumonia set in. She spent 26 days in the hospital and was very weak. On Easter Sunday, Denise was transferred to inpatient rehab where she worked hard to regain her independence. She returned home on April 15 and is still weak and needing some assistance. She has home health physical, occupational, and speech therapy several times a week and continues working to get back to her pre-admission health.

Special Notes

We are so overwhelmed by the love and support that we have received from friends and connections. Denise has always been a tremendous support for everyone in her community and we are so blessed that she has such amazing friends and supporters. For meals, Denise would love it if you would bring the meal and stay to enjoy it with her. She is also open to visitors, calls and texts.
