From her sister Olivia…. I never thought I’d be writing something like this (again) My sister Nicole is currently intubated in the Neuro ICU at Westchester Medical Center after suffering a new ischemic stroke caused by a dissection in a blood vessel in her brain. Almost 8 years ago, Nicole suffered a hemorrhagic stroke that left her with right-sided paralysis and contraction. She fought so hard to regain her life and continued showing up every day for her family, her kids, and everyone around her. This new stroke is affecting the opposite side and is expected to impact her left side. She is still intubated and has not woken up yet. We are all taking turns being with her around the clock while also helping care for Brayden and Emery. Nicole is my sister, but she is also truly the opposite side of the same coin as me. We are so alike in so many ways, but we also balance and complement each other so perfectly. She is one of the strongest people I know, stubborn in the best way, deeply loving, and the kind of mom who does everything for her kids. Brayden will be 12 in August and Emery will be 8 in August. They rely on their mom for everything ;Girl Scouts, Boy Scouts, gymnastics, cheerleading, motocross, hockey, school, routines, comfort, and all the little everyday things that only a mom can give. Ryan works at Bard College and is currently off for summer break, and their family is facing a long and uncertain road ahead. We created a GoFundMe to help with household expenses, support for the kids, hospital-related costs, lost income, and whatever rehabilitation or care Nicole may need moving forward. Please donate if you’re able, share if you can, and most importantly, please pray for Nicole that she wakes up, that she heals, and that she has the strength to keep fighting like she always has. I am hoping this meal train can help out so Ryan doesn’t have to worry about what to make for dinners for the kids. And hoping we can all come together and help out and make as much meals and food as we can for Nicole’s family so they don’t have to worry about food for awhile! If anyone can sign up to make anything or bring them anything would be amazing! Thank you! -Tasha
