Sydney’s Story Sweet Sydney is just 13 months old. After months of vomiting, belly pain, and difficulty with weight gain, she’s now hospitalized long-term at Kaiser Fontana. Sydney is on TPN through a PICC line to help her grow stronger while her doctors prepare her for an endoscopy and eventual surgery. Because of her medical needs, she must remain in the hospital full-time. Calla and Kyle are doing everything they can—rotating nights at the hospital so Sydney is never alone—but that also means they’re away from home, routines, and the simple comforts of daily life.
