Community, we need to show up. Our dear friend Shanin experienced an unimaginable loss. Her partner passed away suddenly after becoming ill with the flu and experiencing breathing complications. What began as a hospital visit meant for care and monitoring turned into heartbreak just hours later. There are no words that can make sense of that kind of loss. Shanin and her partner have been pillars in women’s liberation spaces—steadfast, principled, and deeply committed to protecting women, our boundaries, and our voices. They showed up not for applause, but because they believed in community, truth, and care. That work matters. They matter. Right now, Shanin is grieving far from family and without a close support system nearby. This is one of those moments where chosen family becomes everything. Where community becomes survival. We are organizing a meal train as a simple, tangible way to help carry her through the coming days—so she doesn’t have to think about cooking, errands, or basic needs while her world has been turned upside down. Nourishment is care. Presence is love. Let’s surround Shanin with the same care, dignity, and solidarity she has always extended to others. This is how community shows up. This is how we hold one another. 💜
