Thank you for visiting our Give InKind page and for keeping our family in your thoughts and prayers. On July 23, Lindalee will undergo triple bypass open-heart surgery at Johns Hopkins. This is a major operation, and she is expected to spend about a week in the hospital before beginning what will be a long recovery at home. During this time, our family’s priority is helping her heal, regain her strength, and recover as comfortably as possible. The past several weeks have brought multiple unexpected medical challenges for our family. At the end of May, Grandmommy suffered a heart attack and underwent two procedures. Unfortunately, due to the severity of her disease and her age, the blockages could not be corrected, and she remains very weak and requires a great deal of assistance. A little over a week ago, John had a stroke and is currently undergoing extensive neurological and cardiac testing as doctors continue searching for the underlying cause. As we prepare for Mom’s surgery, we are doing our best to support one another through these difficult circumstances. Many family members and friends have asked how they can help, so we created this page to make it easy to coordinate meals and other support during Mom’s recovery. Having meals taken care of will allow Mom, Rob, and our family to focus on what matters most—her healing. If you’re able to help, you can sign up to provide a meal after Mom returns home from the hospital. Home-cooked meals, takeout, restaurant gift cards, and grocery gift cards are all greatly appreciated. For those who have asked about other ways to help, optional financial donations will go toward expenses such as hospital parking, gas for trips to and from the hospital, meals while loved ones are spending long days at the hospital, recovery-related needs, and helping ease the financial burden when family members need to take time away from work to care for Mom while also helping care for Grandmommy and keeping up with the daily needs, appointments, and therapies for the children. Most importantly, we ask for your prayers—for Mom’s surgery to be successful, for wisdom and guidance for her surgeons and medical team, for a smooth recovery without complications, for continued healing for John, comfort and strength for Grandmommy, and for peace, strength, and comfort for our entire family. Thank you for your love, kindness, generosity, and prayers. Every meal, donation, message, and act of support means more than we can ever express. We are truly grateful to have such an amazing family and group of friends walking beside us during this journey. ❤️
