Thank you so much for visiting our Give InKind page and for keeping our family in your thoughts and prayers. Your love, encouragement, and support mean more to us than we could ever put into words. On July 23, Lindalee will undergo triple bypass open-heart surgery at Johns Hopkins. This is a major surgery, and she is expected to spend about a week in the hospital before beginning what will be a long recovery at home. In addition to severe coronary artery disease requiring bypass surgery, Lindalee has been facing several other serious medical challenges. Her kidney function has continued to decline and is being closely monitored by her doctors. She is also continuing to receive care from her oncology team, along with treatment for several other ongoing health concerns, making both her surgery and recovery more complex. While these challenges have not been easy, we are incredibly thankful she is in the hands of an outstanding medical team at Johns Hopkins. Right now, our family’s focus is helping her heal, regain her strength, and recover as comfortably as possible. The past several weeks have brought several unexpected medical challenges for our family. At the end of May, Grandmommy suffered a heart attack and underwent two procedures. Unfortunately, because of the severity of her heart disease and her age, doctors were unable to correct the blockages. She has since become much weaker, developed additional medical complications, and now requires a great deal of daily care and assistance. Just over a week ago, John suffered a stroke and is currently undergoing extensive neurological and cardiac testing as his doctors continue searching for the underlying cause. As we prepare for Lindalee’s surgery, our family is navigating several serious medical situations at once, and we are doing our best to support one another through it all. So many family members and friends have reached out asking how they can help, and we are incredibly grateful. We created this page to make it easy to coordinate meals and other support during Lindalee’s recovery. Having meals taken care of will allow Lindalee, Rob, and our family to focus on what matters most—helping her rest, heal, and regain her strength. If you’re able to help, you can sign up to provide a meal after Lindalee returns home from the hospital. Home-cooked meals, takeout, restaurant gift cards, and grocery gift cards are all sincerely appreciated and will be a tremendous help during her recovery. For those who have asked about other ways to help, optional financial donations will go toward hospital parking, gas for the many trips to and from Johns Hopkins, meals during long hospital days, recovery-related needs, and helping ease the financial burden while loved ones take time away from work to care for Lindalee, continue caring for Grandmommy, and keep up with the daily needs, appointments, and therapies for the children. Most importantly, we ask for your prayers—for a successful surgery, for wisdom and guidance for Lindalee’s surgeons, physicians, nurses, and the entire medical team, for healing and strength for her heart, kidneys, and every other health challenge she is facing, for a smooth recovery free from complications, for continued healing for John, comfort and strength for Grandmommy, and for peace, hope, and strength for our entire family during this difficult season. From the bottom of our hearts, thank you. Every prayer, meal, donation, message, phone call, visit, and act of kindness reminds us that we are not walking this journey alone. We are truly grateful for the incredible love and support surrounding our family, and we will never be able to thank you enough. ❤️
