Pharos House is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit residential reentry program in Portland, Maine, supporting individuals as they transition from incarceration back into the community. Many of the people who come to us arrive with very few personal belongings. At Pharos House, we provide not only housing and structure, but also the everyday essentials that help someone regain a sense of dignity, confidence, and stability. Something as simple as having access to clean clothes, hygiene products, or a backpack can make a meaningful difference. These items help residents prepare for job interviews, attend appointments, and build a new routine. This page was created to help meet those everyday needs. Your support, whether through donated items or financial contributions, directly benefits our residents and helps remove barriers as they work toward rebuilding their lives. Every contribution, big or small, helps create a stronger foundation for a fresh start.
Requested items include hygiene and personal care products, as well as everyday essentials such as underwear, backpacks, duffel bags, notebooks, and reusable water bottles. All hygiene/personal care/underwear items should be new and unopened. Otherwise, all items should be in good, usable condition. Financial contributions and gift cards are also greatly appreciated and will be used to purchase essential items for residents. If you have questions or would like to coordinate delivery of donated items, please contact Celenia Velasco, (207) 650-2593, [email protected]
