Gabrielle’s diagnosis is Burkitt lymphoma, a rare and highly aggressive form of non-Hodgkin, B-cell lymphoma. Due to its aggressive nature, it is expected to respond well to intensive chemotherapy. Gabrielle’s treatment plan is to receive chemo in the hospital for 6 days (admitted to MD Anderson in Houston each time) every 21 days for the next 5-6 months. It will be a long and difficult treatment plan, but tends to be effective and recovery is in the high percentage. Her sisters have curated a "Care List" on Amazon of items that may make her journey a little easier. It is linked on the right side of this page for anyone who would like to look at it.
If you would like to better understand the title of Gabrielle's Give InKind page, please watch the video linked below. Two years ago while in high school, Gabrielle wrote her senior thesis titled, "The Paradox of Pain: A Hero's Profitable Embrace of Suffering." She was chosen to present and defend her thesis at her school's Evening of Rhetoric. The beauty of what she presented, and also its current poignancy, is great. We have included it here on her page because the Lord was clearly working in her then to teach all of us now about how to journey through this trial. May it be an encouragement to us all. https://www.dropbox.com/scl/fi/6xid7hoy2u5lzla8bc0e5/Gabo.mp4?rlkey=warf1vodxb4ao1vhwr6jvg0pu&st=bifplzvh&dl=0
