Support for the Luce's ❤️

Story

I am currently fighting Stage 3 triple-negative breast cancer that i was diagnosed with in April at just 11 weeks pregnant. My newborn daughter, Nevaeh, spent 54 days in the NICU after being born at just 30 weeks and has finally come home. ❤️ We are starting this page to ask for help in different ways during this incredibly difficult time while we try to enjoy our time with our babies finally being together. My diagnosis of Stage 3 triple-negative breast cancer is the most aggressive form of breast cancer that requires intensive treatment. I had already been through 10 cycles of chemotherapy, all while pregnant with Nevaeh. Through every appointment and uncertainty, our family has leaned on our faith and prayed for strength, healing, and protection for both of us. At 30 weeks, I developed severe preeclampsia, a serious pregnancy complication involving dangerously high blood pressure. I was also at very high risk of developing HELLP syndrome, a potentially life-threatening complication that can affect the liver, blood, and other organs. With increasing concerns for both of us, the safest option was to deliver early. Nevaeh Maria was born weighing just over 3 pounds and remained in the NICU, where she continued to grow stronger. We are incredibly grateful for every little milestone and for the doctors and nurses who cared for her during that time as well. I will continue to have cancer treatment ahead of me for potentially the remainder of my life while waiting for a confirmed M1/Stage 4 TNBC diagnosis while also trying to be there for my husband, Kevin, Nevaeh, and my son, Carter, who will be 3 in about a week or so. I'm currently on long-term leave from work to continue treatment and recover. Kevin has also had to step away from work to be here for us, as I am unable to take care of both of my babies by myself. Between caring for Carter and now Nevaeh, and managing appointments and treatments, our focus right now needs to be on getting everyone through this. With the added cost of childcare, returning to work simply isn’t realistic for us right now. I want to be able to focus on healing, continuing treatment, watching Vaeh grow stronger, and being a mom to my two babies and being a wife without the added worry of how we are going to make ends meet. Any and all funds raised through our gofundme will help with hospital and medical bills for both mom and baby, groceries, household bills, necessities for the kids, and other everyday expenses in the months ahead. Through all of this, we have been reminded how much it means to be surrounded by love, prayer, and support. We continue to trust God through the uncertainty and take things one day at a time. If you’re able to donate, any amount will make a difference. If donating isn’t possible, sharing our story or lifting our family up in prayer would mean just as much to us. We have set the goal to $6000 as we don't know how long we will be in these trenches or how long this battle will be if my diagnosis changes. We hope that doesn't make anyone feel pressured to donate. We are also asking for help in other ways like errands, meal trains, help around the house, and etc. If you feel inclined to help in any way please let us know ❤️ Thank you for taking the time to read our story and for helping remind me that my family and I do not have to carry all of this alone. We are incredibly grateful for every person God places in our corner and hope to come out the other end stronger not only myself but as a family.

Special Notes

If you would like to support through our meal train, Carter is allergic to fish, Nevaeh is on Similac Neosure formula, and kev and I will pretty much eat whatever except fish, seafood, mushrooms, and super spicy stuff.
