Support the Friendship Room

Steubenville, OH

Story

This winter, the two homeless shelters in Steubenville have closed. As a result, the Friendship Room is serving more of our community's residents than ever before. Every day warm clothing, basic needs, and hot food are shared with those in need. Please help in any way you can. Sign up below to let us know if you can bring some hot food any day we are open, Monday through Saturday. (Feel free to bring it if you don't sign up, this is just a way we can all know what days food is most needed): *Good hot food to bring would be something that will really stick to your ribs, like meat and potatoes, hearty stew, pasta, or any kind of bread. Cut up or soft fruit is also welcome, like bananas or fruit cups. *Please deliver your hot food in a disposable container (like a Dollar Tree roasting pan) that you do not need back- we just can't keep track of containers. (Thank you!) *Please note when you sign up how many people you expect your donation could feed. Any amount is appreciated. We feed around 200 people each day, and many hands make light work. If we know how many people each donation will feed, we can try to cover the total together. ANYTIME we are open, without signing up, you are welcome to bring donations of: basic toiletries warm clothing (all sizes) blankets sleeping bags tents tarps sleeping pads (including "plarn" pads) Pantry items, especially hearty/thick canned goods (stew, meat, beans, etc) and instant oatmeal
