Supporting Brendin & Raquel Carlson

Brendin and Raquel are walking through an incredibly difficult and unexpected season, and their family could use a little extra love and support right now. At just 29 weeks and 1 day, Raquel had to undergo an emergency C-section to deliver their baby boy. He is now in the NICU, facing a long road ahead. While their little boy fights through his own challenges, Raquel is also working through a difficult recovery. She has lost a significant amount of blood, and her medical team is working to get that under control while also managing her blood pressure and pain. There is a lot for this family to navigate, both physically and emotionally, in the days and weeks ahead. Brendin and Raquel are private people, and we want to be mindful and respectful of that. We aren't sharing this to overstep their privacy, but because sometimes loving people well means recognizing when they need support and finding ways to show up for them. Over the next two weeks, one of the biggest needs is childcare for Maya, giving Brendin and Raquel the ability to be where they need to be and focus on their baby boy and Raquel's recovery. Beyond that, help with meals, laundry, and cleaning would make an enormous difference in taking some of the everyday responsibilities off their shoulders. Sometimes, support doesn't have to be big or complicated. It can look like spending time with Maya, dropping off dinner, folding a load of laundry, or helping keep the house in order. These small acts of kindness can make an incredibly hard season just a little more manageable.
