On Wednesday, April 24th, Demi was in a tragic accident while chasing one of her biggest dreams. She was in Oklahoma City at the 2024 BBR World Finals to compete in a barrel race on her favorite horse, Numbers. The event did not go as planned for her - as the horse entered the arena, he seemed spooked and something was just not right. Demi fell off the horse on the first turn and hit her head very hard on the arena wall. When she hit the ground, she was unconscious and had some seizure activity before getting loaded up into the ambulance. She was transported to the hospital where they found she had a small brain bleed as well as a fracture in her lower back. She was discharged the next day but she spent the entire day sleeping and had trouble talking and walking. At 4 days out, she is able to tolerate a shower with assistance and finally ate a little bit. She has a 3-year-old daughter, Isla, that has tons of people to love on her while Demi is healing! However, I think a meal train will be beneficial at this time to help offload that daily task and allow her to rest in the evenings.
I know she loves pasta - spaghetti, Alfredo, ravioli, etc. as well as pizza, chicken tenders, and probably anything from Retro (Mexican restaurant in Jasper).
