Randy’s Cancer Journey

Saint Louis, MO

Story

My dad, Randy, has recently been diagnosed with Glioblastoma, an aggressive type of brain cancer, immediately labeled as stage 4. They believe he’s terminal, and say he may only have a year, to a year and a half left. I started this page because since diagnosis it has been hard for my mom and I to stably be at work while helping him with treatment and other basic needs around the house. We can’t leave him alone. This has caused bills to grow and although we have been trying, the pile seems to just keep getting bigger. Groceries have been harder, and getting access to things for around the house, to help him be more independent, has been expensive. Ex. shower seat, shower rail, cane, stair railings, ect. We are also in the process of getting our family car back up and running, for we have had to use Ubers, our neighbors car, or my aunt for rides to his treatments, appointments, and my mom and I to get to our workplaces. It’s been hard for us to have the courage to reach out for help but for him my mom and I have decided it’s what we need to do, to do what’s best for him. We don’t wanna ask for too much but every dollar counts. We appreciate any kind of support we can get. This has really shown us how in life, so little can mean so much. So, we just want to say thank you to whoever is willing to leave just a few dollars for my father and our little family.
