As many of you know, my mother was diagnosed with colon cancer in 2023. She faced it with incredible strength and determination, and we were so grateful when she was declared cancer-free in 2024. Sadly, not long after, she began experiencing serious complications that took a significant toll on her health. Then, in May 2025, we received the heartbreaking news that the cancer had returned—this time in her liver. On October 2, she underwent major surgery to remove the affected portion of her liver. Her recovery will require strict limitations on activity, and she won’t be able to do her own grocery shopping or prepare meals. In addition to her own health challenges, she lives with her elderly mother and one of her brothers. Their household is still grieving the sudden and recent loss of her brother Jamie, which has added an emotional and practical strain to an already difficult time. My hope is that we can rally around her the way she has always shown up for others—by helping ensure there are meals for the three of them during this recovery period. Any support is deeply appreciated. Thank you for your kindness and generosity.
Please note: no spicy foods, as they’re difficult for my mom to tolerate right now. Meals that can be frozen and reheated are especially helpful, since they make things easier for the household. If cooking isn’t possible, I’m also happy to accept monetary donations and handle the meal prep myself. Every bit of support means so much—thank you again for your kindness.
