First and foremost, Rochel and Mary want you to know that loving the Beembo (aka Evelyn) is never ever a burden. That being said, there aren't enough hours in the day nor sleep nor help nor dollars nor coffee to go around to make this life sustainable. They are lucky that they are part of communities who have said "We want to be your village" and though it is uncomfortable to receive, they know they--and, most importantly, Evelyn--need you on this journey. After sustaining a catastrophic brain injury at 7 weeks old, Evelyn came to live with Mary and Rachel. She has proven time and time again that she is the hero of her own story. While most days are much easier than they were in the early years, the hard days are hard and scary. Donating here allows Ev’s team to fully concentrate on caring and loving her without sweating the details of cooking, buying supplies, or finding money for another piece of equipment.
Typically, gift cards to Uber Eats, GrubHub, or InstaCart are the easiest while Evelyn is in the hospital because it doesn’t require a lot of coordination. For home-cooked meals, kosher or vegetarian is appreciated (no olives please). Wag gift cards (https://wagwalking.com/gift-card) are great for making sure the family’s dogs, Emmie and George, are also taken care of while Evelyn is inpatient.
