Rebecca and Matthew Huddleston welcomed their son, Payson Alexander Huddleston, on 8/13, who is a 1 lb 5 oz micropremie at 25+3 weeks gestational age. Payson will be in the UNC Chapel Hill NICU until November at least and the family’s home is 1 hour away in Johnston county. Right now their immediate needs are a hospital grade/top performing wall pump such as Spectra S1, pump parts, gas and food gift cards to cover the many hours they will be spending in and out of the hospital. Please join me in praying for and covering this family with blessing and provision.🙏 From Rebecca: “Payson Alexander Huddleston 🩵 August 13, 2026, 8:57 AM 1 lb. 5 oz. | 10.6 in. We are blessed to announce the arrival of our son on 8/13/26. At my 25 week and 3 day appointment on Tuesday, they noticed on Payson’s umbilical doppler ultrasound that his absent end diastolic blood flow had turned reverse. We were then admitted to Chapel Hill until delivery, not knowing if we would be there a few days or a few weeks. The next day we had another ultrasound and with guidance from our doctors, we planned a c-section for Thursday morning. With about 16 hours to prepare, our entire world changed. The surgery went really well. Payson came out kicking and started crying a bit before they put a CPAP on him. We were blessed that he didn’t have to be intubated right away. He is still doing well, but had some events overnight and they had to intubate him. We were able to visit him a little bit yesterday and see his face without the mask or tube aside from his delivery which we are so thankful for that time to see his face. I’m doing well after surgery. Very sore and trying to get as much rest as we can while still trying to visit the NICU. We’ve got a bit of a journey ahead of us. We anticipate his stay to be at least to his due date (November 21) or later depending on how the next few months go. We are taking everything day by day, looking at resources like the Ronald McDonald house to help support our time here, and just trusting God’s plan through it all. We are praying he continues to grow and gain weight, he continues to develops his organs to help support him, and he stays clear of any infections. Pray for a speedy recovery for me, rest, and we will be able to support Payson with our own breast milk in the next few days. 🙏”
