Stronger Together: Team Jessica

Story

Supporting Jessica Through Surgery & Recovery 💗 Hi, I’m Erin Smith, and I’ve created this page for my daughter, Jessica—because even the fiercest fighters need backup. Jessica is a single mom of three incredible kids and the glue that holds her family together. She meets life’s challenges with strength, grit, and one of the best senses of humor you’ll ever encounter—bold, sarcastic, and exactly what you want when things get tough. In 2024, she was diagnosed with bladder cancer, and in June 2025, Paget’s disease of the breast, a rare and aggressive cancer, along with IDC, another form of breast cancer. Her battle is ongoing, challenging and complicated. Jessica has always taken pride in handling things on her own and doesn’t like to ask for help. But the weight of two cancer battles—combined with being out of work and caring for her kids—is more than anyone should have to carry alone. She had a bilateral mastectomy including lymph node removal on August 12th. Since then, she has been dealing with complications and has been in and out of the hospital multiple times. She is currently working with Stanford and an amazing team of doctors focused on getting Jessica healthy and thriving again. ⸻ How You Can Support Jessica prefers to keep things simple and low-contact while she recovers. Instead of home visits or meal drop-offs, she feels most comfortable receiving digital support, including: • Uber Eats, Door Dash or restaurant gift cards • Amazon cards for recovery supplies- she has also provided a wish list with items she wants or needs that can be delivered directly to her. • Grocery or Target gift cards to help keep the household running Shell gas cards to help with driving back and forth to Stanford are really helpful for her and are in the list of gift cards. These gifts allow her to manage meals, restock essentials, and maintain some routine—all on her own terms. ⸻ Every Bit Helps Whether it’s a gift card, a kind message, or just keeping her in your thoughts, every gesture counts. Thank you so much for showing up for Jessica and giving her the space to focus on healing—and on being the fiercely loving mom her kids count on.
