My cancer journey began on January 2, 2026. I had been having some indigestion and discomfort since about December 30th and mild pain in my right side. I went to the Perry ER where they performed a CT scan of my stomach and was told they found a "mass with traits of malignancy" on my gallbladder. They referred me for a hepatobiliary specialist which landed me at Emory in Atlanta. MRI's and biopsies have confirmed that I have an advanced stage gallbladder primary adenocarcinoma with metastases on my liver and nearby lymph nodes. The doctors performed a test called a ki67 which looks at how quickly the tumor is replicating and mine scored 90% (most gallbladder cancers score around 30%). My tumor is aggressive and rapidly replicating. The surgical oncologist has said she can not operate due to being unable to resect with strong confidence in getting all of the cancer. My oncologist says that the 5 year survival rate for this cancer with current treatment plan is less than 5% and the average life span with current treatment is 13 months (with half of patients passing in less than 13 months and half living for more). I have faith that God has a plan in this trial and He has given me peace for whatever the outcome. I intend to fight for more time to share his love here on Earth with my family, friends and community until He makes it clear to me that my time here is done. I understand that many would like to bless us with support and I am overcome with gratitude. I hope this venue allows people to help in a way that makes sense your current situation.
We are avoiding red meat, fried foods and lots of processed sugars. Ground turkey is good. We love pastas and casseroles. Enjoy cooked veggies like carrots, cabbage, green beans, mushrooms, peppers, broccoli, cauliflower and squash. Salads are good also. Message directly for specific orders if you would like to do take out.
