As many know, Hayley is bravely battling a brain tumor. She has been so strong through surgery and chemo. Last week, she was dealt a difficult blow when her care team determined that the surgery, that they were hoping to never have to do, was now immediately necessary. As she and her family face this latest hurdle, in her road to kicking cancers butt, we are asking, on their behalf, for her community to rally around them. Crystal immediately quit her job and has been giving round the clock care for Hayley. Unfortunately, Joe cannot leave his job and thus, has been working all day and has been there to support Hayley and Crystal at night. This surgery is far more dangerous than the first surgery. That said, Hayley has an amazing medical team who have a plan. Hayley will be in the hospital full time for six weeks post surgery. This will involve a lot of rehab, testing, and treatment. The first thing that the family needs are all the prayers that we have; all day, every day. After that, they could use help with the basics, especially feeding their family. Hayley is tired of the hospital food, as one can imagine. Crystal is unlikely to eat as she is so focused on Hayley. Her own wellbeing comes second. Joe is just trying to keep it all together. This family is amazing, and up to this point, were not willing to reach out for help. However, with consistent reminders that we are all a family and people want to help, they have permitted us to organize this page. We are making a list of the things that will help them the most right now. Anything is welcome however. The students have made posters that will be hung in her room and each has sent her a card. We hope this will continue to remind Hayley that we are all here for her, loving her, and championing her recovery.
