Kelly and Jeremy Roberts brought their new little bundle of love into the world on May 21st. Kelly was sent to Macon for an emergency C-Section at only 34 weeks pregnant, so it was very unexpected. Jace has had a rough start at life. He was six weeks premature, started his life on a ventilator, was taken to Atlanta to have surgery for a brain bleed (luckily this started healing on it's own and no surgery was needed), had several other health problems to overcome such as lots of swelling, seizures, trouble regulating his sugar, jaundice and he has to be fed and get his medicines through a feeding tube. Jace also has Trisomy 21 "Down Syndrome". But he is getting stronger everyday and is loved by so many. Love doesn't count chromosomes ❤️ After 8 weeks and 2 days in the NICU, Jace is finally home! Kelly and Jeremy do not like to ask for help, but both of them have missed a lot of work to be with baby Jace. They have worked out their work schedules so that one of them can be there with him every day due to him needing special care. They have a large family, Jace is their 7th child, so they could use all the continued support they can get. One of the biggest struggles with coming home and getting adjusted to their new way of life, is planning and preparing meals for 8 people. I thought it would be a great idea to start a meal train, where anyone who would like to help can schedule a night to provide a meal for them until they get use to their new normal. If you want to help, you just select a date available that you would like to provide a meal for the family. If you prefer not to cook, you could also have food delivered to them, or pick up food from local restaurants to drop off for them. I know this would be very much appreciated and would be a huge help to them right now. If you would prefer to donate money to the family, their is a CashApp link also provided on this page. You can also buy gift cards to local restaurants at places like Walmart, and those can be dropped of or given to me or some of Kelly's family to take to them.
They would be greatful for anything provided for them, but I did ask if there were certain types of food they prefer. I was trying to think of things that would be easier to provide for a larger family. Just some suggested ideas would be things like casseroles, spaghetti, hamburgers, tacos, fried chicken and pizza (remember you are feeding 8) and for things like pizza, some like supreme and some only eat cheese and pepperoni, so I would suggest getting different kinds. It might also be a good idea for 2 people to plan to provide a meal together. For example, on Friday night, Kelly's sister baked a ham for them and I provided sides to go with the ham. I'm sure they will appreciate anything that anybody does to help them.
