The belly is officially getting evicted! 🎉 On October 6th, I’ll be having a panniculectomy to remove the excess skin left behind after losing nearly 200 pounds. It’s a surgery I’ve been looking forward to, but it also means another recovery period—and somehow, this will be surgery number TWO for me in 2026. Apparently one surgery in a year just wasn’t enough. 😂 I created Operation: Bye Bye Belly as one place where I can share surgery updates, let everyone know how recovery is going, and make it a little easier for our family to accept help when we need it. The first few weeks will mean lots of rest, limited movement, lifting restrictions, and relying on other people more than I normally like to. If you’d like to help, you can use this page to sign up to bring a meal, send dinner, or help with other needs that come up while I’m recovering. There is absolutely no expectation to contribute—messages, check-ins, and good vibes are just as appreciated. It has been a very long journey to get here, and this surgery feels like another big step forward. I’m excited, nervous, and very ready to close out this chapter. Please make sure any meals, ingredients, sauces, seasonings, and sides are gluten-free. If you’re unsure about something, feel free to ask! Gift cards or ordering from restaurants with gluten-free options are also always welcome. 🕷️ A heads-up about our pets: We have pet spiders in our home. They are safely kept in their enclosures and will not be roaming around the house, but I know spiders can be a hard no for some people. 😂 If you aren’t comfortable coming inside because of them, that is completely okay! Food can easily be dropped off at the door—no spider encounters required.
