Rev. Nancy Wofford’s Support Circle

Story

I've been fighting cancer since November 2022. It was stage 4 metastatic when we found it, which basically means it's a chronic condition. As the disease continues, my condition and ability to take care of things will also change. Right now, I've had a bad month. A reaction to the medication I was on has led to complications that I'm just beginning to recover from. The good news is, I am recovering! But the reality is, there will be more difficult days ahead. That's why I'm setting up this page. You matter to me. Your prayers matter to me. I want you to know what's going on and to be praying for me and the church even when when I'm not able to be there. I have a couple of friends that will make sure there are regular updates and prayer requests to keep everyone posted. I'm also going to include ways you can help beyond your prayers. Some days I'm able to drive, but not always. There's a few other things around the house that I may need help with. Food and visiting are tricky - see the notes below. But most of all, thank you for logging on, for caring for me, and for all your prayers. nancy

Special Notes

About Food ... as some of you know, cancer surgery a few years ago removed some parts that are essential for healthy digestion. As a consequence, I take medication to provide the enzymes I need to digest common foods. This works well as long as I know exactly how much fat are in a particular food. When I'm well, if I don't take enough medicine, I can usually deal with the side effects fairly easily, but right now my system is really fragile and can't handle the side effects. For this reason, I ask that you don't bring food at this time, unless it has less than 5 grams of fat per serving. Thanks for understanding! About visiting ... I love having visitors for SHORT periods of time, but please check ahead of time so that I'm not resting, at the doctor's or otherwise indisposed. Also, my immune system is compromised because of chemotherapy, so if you're not feeling well, just call me, please :)
