Dear Village, I want to take a moment to update you on Gina. As most of you are aware, in August, Gina was diagnosed with lymphoma of the stomach. While the news has been overwhelming, Gina is surrounded by her incredible “village” — and that support has already been felt deeply by her, Roni, Penelope, and Piper. The treatment plan will begin October 6th with Gina starting chemotherapy. She will go through four rounds of treatment, each spaced three weeks apart. The doctors are optimistic, and Gina is ready to face this next chapter with her trademark strength, grace & humor. Our hopes are that by Christmas time, the cancer will be in remission. This is a stressful and emotional time for Gina & Roni & the Girls but the outpouring of love and offers to help have lifted them up in ways words can’t fully capture. Many of you have reached out for direction on how you can help. As we all know support can come in many forms...meals, errands, financial, etc. We have created this page in an effort for Gina's village to collectively offer holistic & practical support. There are many options connected with this page that will provide you with a direction so you can offer the support that works best for you…The options range from sending a physical gift card to their home to placing funds on a digital gift card from the wishlist provided that will help with groceries, food delivery, activities for the kids, medication, feel good gifts, (like a spa treatment or flowers)to providing financial support for medical bills, housecleaners, gas, etc. either via Venmo or through VISA gift card or signing up to run an errand on the calendar provided. Emotional, spiritual, financial and practical support are all threads of the same blanket that will help keep Gina and her family warm & lifted through this journey.
