Meal Donation to NorthShore Glenbrook Hospital - 4th floor

Glenview, IL

Story

The NorthShore Glenbrook hospital 4th floor nurses and staff are treating the area's COVID-19 positive patients, working tirelessly to keep us all safe while we are staying home to keep them safe. Let's give back and help fuel them with meals at this critical time. This is also a chance to support our local restaurants and delivery drivers. Many local restaurants are engaging with the community already. and are willing to give discounts. Call with 24 hr notice to make arrangements. Please know that the food donation must comply with appropriate guidelines to ensure everyone’s safety: • Food must come from restaurants only and must be individually wrapped and sealed—no large tin family-style pans. Pizza is the ONLY exception • Food must not contain nuts or nut products • The hospital is unable to accept homemade foods— for precautionary measures and for the safety and protection of staff and patients • For safety reasons, instruct the delivery service to deliver the food to the main entrance of the hospital Please keep your receipts and check with your accountants/tax preparers to find out if you can utilize this as a tax deductible donation. We are doing our part by staying home, but this is one small thing we can do as a community to mobilize behind those that must go to work to help our communities! STEPS TO PARTICIPATE: 1. Select date of your choice by clicking "claim" to commit to sponsoring a lunch or dinner. Dinner is scheduled late to support HCP working the night shift. 2. QUANTITY - 10 to 25 meals (Any amount is welcome, though. Families may come together to sponsor a meal and spread the cost) 3. You pick any local restaurant of your choice to place your order and utilize either their delivery service or Grub Hub/Uber Eats/Door Dash. NO PERSONAL DELIVERIES. NO GIFT CARDS. 4. In your claimed spot please specify where the delivery will be from and a brief description of what is ordered - this is very helpful for the hospital so they know what to expect. 5. With more than 24 hours notice, work with the restaurant, mention it is a donation (discounts may be available) and provide them with specific instructions on how to deliver: "Park right out front of Glenbrook Hospital, John and Carol Walter Ambulatory Care Center, 2180 Pfingsten Road, Glenview, 60026 and let them know their Give In Kind delivery has arrived! They will have someone take the delivery from there." If they need a name, please mention Sandy Alexander (floor manager). 6. Deliveries have to be made at specific times as listed below. Please note when calling to place your order please mention that you are donating your meal as we have found many restaurants are providing some type of discount for your good deed!
