On Monday Val had a bicycling accident which resulted in a concussion and a severely broken collar bone on her dominant arm. After going to the ER, we were referred a sports medicine specialist who concluded that emergency surgery was necessary. On Thursday she has her surgery where the doctors inserted a metal plate and some sutures to assist with the healing process. The surgery was fully successful and she is now at home resting.
