A Little About Toni 🩷 Four and a half years after her original breast cancer diagnosis, Toni is facing breast cancer again. Thankfully, scans have shown no evidence that the cancer has spread, and surgery brought more good news: clear margins and negative lymph nodes. What comes next is a little more complicated. Toni’s case is unusual, and her doctors at Duke are working to determine the best HER2-targeted treatment plan, which is likely to include a combination of both chemotherapy and radiation. She is also traveling to New York City for a second opinion at Memorial Sloan Kettering as she and her family navigate the road ahead. Through all of the appointments, decisions, travel, treatment, and uncertainty, we want Toni to feel just how many people are standing beside her. So many people have asked how they can support Toni, so we created this page as an easy way for her village to show up. From meals and gift cards to helping with treatment and travel expenses or simply sending a few words of love and encouragement, every gesture is a reminder that she and her family aren’t walking through this alone.
