My son Rick has deadly, genetic health issues. At 5 days old he was hemorrhaging. Doctors doubted he would survive. On day 12 they asked if they could do exploratory surgery. He was dying. I went and signed the papers. They found a large portion of his intestines appeared abnormal and removed them. Around 10 hours later we were told to meet the surgeon upstairs. Rounding the corner we saw the Dr. when he saw us he pointed upward. My son had survived and time to wait and see. The bleeding had stopped. About 7 years later it began again, we thought. He had been bleeding all the while, it just didn't show other than always anemic. He has had numerous, life threatening bleeds, surgeries, blood and iron infusions. Today he has no stomach and few intestines. Has gone from 160 lbs to 100 lbs. Doing our best to nourish him so he might live. He fights his issues daily, diabetic, nerve pain and weak.
