Hello Family & Friends First off thank you to all of our family and friends that have sent us a well wishes, food, and get well cards. I (Monica) decided to create this page for those that would like to donate a meal to help us navigate our current life situations. JJ had a seizure on June 6th a few days before my mom's scheduled kidney donation. We spent a night at the Baytown Methodist. He's now on a strict no driving no work restriction per the doctor. Granny Sally donated her kidney on June 10th. She is still currently in the hospital due to complications. We are praying she can come home with us asap! Her prescence at home is deeply missed. Mateo had his scheduled eye muscle correction surgery June 26th (both eyes). He was and is still the bravest boy! He's giving us, mom and dad, the hardest time about his eye drops but overall he is back to his usual silly self 💛 I (Monica), rarely talk about myself when discussing our family because their issues are bigger than mine. But full transparency I have been struggling with a cyclical sinus infection/bronchitis. I've been to the doctor 3 times this month, but somehow still have a cough that sounds like I'm a 3 pack a day smoker (per JJ). I don't want to jinx it, but out of all of us Uncle Johnny is trucking a long and going with the flow! Praise Jesus!!! The idea didn't occur to me to ask for any help until my sweet neighbor, Sarah, brought over food for dinner one evening and my cousin Griselda sent us a late night snack (cookies from the Baked Bear, YUM). We are forever grateful for prayers, messages of well wishes, and donations as we navigate through these life changing times. With our deepest gratitude and love, The Manzo Family
Cliff Note Version 🤓 * * Still a lot of words, but I tried my best! •JJ had a seizure at work on June 6th, which resulted in a hospital stay and serious lifestyle changes. No driving or working until ~September 10th. •My mom was an eligible kidney donor for my cousin and completed surgery on June 12th. It was anything, but routine, serious complications. 2 weeks post op, she had to undergo an additional surgery. I'll spare you the details. The good news is she's in less pain and able to rest a little more comfortably. It's going to be a process, but she's one tough 🍪! Thankfully my mom lives with us, so we are keeping a close eye on her to assist with the healing process and make sure she doesn't overdo it ❤️🩹 •After completing 35 weeks of vision therapy, which consisted of a weekly trip 🚗 💨 to Bellaire in Houston 😳 ....he was finally ready to receive the muscle correction surgery for both 👀 on June 26th, & he's looking so grown up! We haven't seen his eyes aligned since he was 3. He continues to have a lot of redness, but the healing process has been normal. 🙌🏽 •Me 🙋🏻♀️ as of July 4th, my cough has significantly improved. I must have had back to back respiratory infections 🤔, we don't know. But after multiple Doctor visits, different medications, chest X-rays, I'm feeling significantly better! JJs continued joke is that I know sound like a 1 pack a day smoker instead of 6 😂 •Everyone's favorite uncle JOHNNY. At 87 years young he's trucking along and continues to be the healthiest one in the household, minus his hearing 🤭
