Dear all,I wanted to give you a quick update on Davyd. He is doing well overall, though his doctor’s appointment on Monday gave us a bit of a scare. Because of the harsh side effects he experienced previously, the doctors decided to lower his chemotherapy dose. They assured us this is the right call; keeping him at the original dose would be too hard on his body and could impact his ability to handle future treatments. We have two more cycles to go, followed by scans to see if the tumor is shrinking. We are on Day 4 after treatment now. Thankfully, he hasn’t been actively sick, but his nausea has peaked today, and he is feeling incredibly drained. Even so, he says this round is like night and day compared to the last one—the symptoms are still there, but they are much more manageable. While at the clinic this week, I met two wonderful women fighting the exact same cancer. Their symptoms are entirely different from Davyd's, which has really shown me how differently everyone's body handles this journey. On a wonderful note, Dyon is coming home for the summer this Monday! He will be working while he's here, but his main priority is spending quality time with his dad. We are so excited to have him back.We also want to express our deepest gratitude for our amazing community. My best friend, Peggy, along with some other wonderful friends, started a meal train for us this week. My circle of friends may be small, but they have giant hearts, and I am so thankful for them. Thank you also to everyone who has called to check in on Davyd—it means the world to him to know how much he is cared for. Please keep us in your prayers:Pray for the chemo to do its job perfectly and shrink this tumor.Pray for safe travels for Dyon as he makes his way home.Pray for our incredible doctors and the wonderful nurses taking care of us.We hope you are all doing well. Thank you so much for your love and support
