She picked out the name Karter when she was just in middle school. When she found out she was having a boy, she and Sam knew exactly what they wanted to name this blessing from God. The pregnancy went smoothly until just days before Karter was due. Kaley went into labor but upon arriving at the hospital, she and Sam learned that there was no heartbeat. Karter was stillborn.
