As the Andersons navigate the loss of Danny, our hearts are broken for our sweet cousin Erica and her amazing kids. In times of grief, even the simplest daily tasks—like figuring out what to make for dinner—can feel overwhelming. We want to surround Erica, her kids, and her extended family with as much love, comfort, and practical support as possible right now. To help lighten their load in the coming weeks, we are setting up a Meal Train for the family. Having meals brought to their door means one less thing for Erica to worry about as she focuses on caring for her children and taking things one day at a time. How You Can Help Sign up for a meal slot: Choose a day to drop off a homemade dish or order a delivery from one of their favorite local spots. Send a gift card: If you aren't local or prefer to help remotely, digital restaurant or grocery gift cards are enormously helpful. Share the link: Help us reach others who love this family by passing this post along. Thank you all so much for showing up for Erica and the kids. Your kindness, prayers, and support mean more to the family than words can express.
When children experience deep loss, familiar and comforting foods that require very little effort are best. Simple, warm, and low-prep meals like pizza, macaroni and cheese, chicken and rice, or a simple pasta bake provide easy nourishment and comfort. Grieving kids may not sit down for a full meal, so accessible snacks could also be helpful. Please consider sending fruit or applesauce, yogurt cups, string cheese, mini muffins, etc. If you cannot deliver food to the Anderson’s door please let Jess or Stacy know and we will arrange to get it delivered.
