Story
It's been a long journey. In August of 2021, I finally had health insurance and I started to work towards getting healthier. I started taking my ADHD medication again after being unable to receive it due to lack of insurance, And being unable to pay out of pocket. I finally had a job that provided me things that I needed. 🤷♀️ I was 347 lbs. I was trying to lose weight, and I was trying to make changes but my body just was not losing weight like it should... Because my body wasn't working like it should. Having ADHD means that you can binge eat a lot of times... And having chronic trauma and constant cortisol shot to your system from being in constant fight or flight can make your body hold on to a lot of weight... It all came to a head when I was told by a nutritionist that she doesn't think that she can help me, but she thinks that I need to go to trauma therapy... In combination with the trauma therapy and finally being on medication that makes my brain work properly, I was solidly losing about 10 lb a month... And after a few years, I lost 200 lb. So now that we're here, I lost the weight. I had my surgery scheduled for last year in December but it was delayed because I lost my job in July and I had to fight the state to get Medicaid for 9 months. It's been a really long road and I finally see the light at the end of the tunnel of being able to be comfortable with my body. I've always been an advocate for self-love at any size. I've done burlesque for over a decade now and I've done it at every size that I have been because it's important to show people that they're beautiful no matter what size they are and they're here and they deserve to be celebrated... But I have a lot of excess skin. And it makes life uncomfortable... And I've had to live with loose skin like this for a little over a year and a half.. I am so excited to finally be free of it. But I do need some help... In the process of losing weight, I also lost another 200 lb because I got a divorce. Granted, we co-parent effectively and are able to keep things about the kids as all divorced parents should do--- But because my surgery has been moved several times due to issues with insurance and me just being on the wait list for the earliest possible day, my ex is going to be out of town the day after my surgery. He's able to watch our children the day of, but I am going to need help with watching the kids while recovering for the first few days. I'm also going to need some help with cleaning up around my house and cleaning the litter box and food prep/cooking. But also taking care of me and I.... Might need a team of people I don't know. My kids are wild sometimes and they need people to have fun with them and teach them things because they don't always like to listen to Mom to teach them things. 🤷♀️ Like letting my son know that Mommy can't pick him up for 12 weeks... Even though he loves scoops... I'm also going to need some help with paying for bills because I'm going to be out of work for a little while. The total recovery time is 12 weeks. I am going to have drainage tubes in me for at least 2 weeks... I'm probably going to need a little bit more help during the time that I have the drainage tubes and shortly after... Any help is appreciated. Seriously, if it's just company to entertain the kids that helps immensely. July 2nd is the official surgery date, but I am on the wait list for any early cancellations... But I appreciate any help that anybody can provide. ❤️ Venmo: @MadisonHarris166 Cashapp: $LunaLoveLust
Special Notes
We live in an AuDHD home so foods can be an issue sometimes. When it comes to the kids, my son will not eat any meat covered in sauce. He also will not eat any soups. His safe foods are fruit and cheese- chicken generally too. Cyndri will try just about anything but chicken based anything is usually safe. Bacon is their favorite. We don't eat fish typically. Cyndri will try spicy foods? My tummy does not like too much spice, I can handle some but please season my food dammit. 😅😅
